Full BPM Arena Running Order for the weekend
This year’s BPM Arena line-up is the biggest, best and most eclectic yet. There are DJ sets, AV performances, Live PAs, Q&As & Panels featuring big names and fresh talent. The whole line-up for all three days is listed below and is also displayed on the BPM website; take a look and plan your day(s) at BPM to make sure that you don’t miss a thing!
Saturday 2nd October
12:00pm: Rebecca Saforia [DJ Set]
Rebecca Saforia is always searching for inspiration. Her consistent experimentation with sound and music enables her to create a distinctive inimitable style which is constantly evolving to ensure the listener is always engaged.
12:30pm: Freestyle DJ Competition Heats 1&2
The contestants for the first two heats have already qualified through the advanced online vote. In each heat, four contestants will have five minutes to show what they can do behind the decks, before the judges choose a winner to go through to the final at the end of the day.
1:30pm: Davey Asprey [DJ Set]
Davey Asprey is a young, refreshing and enthusiastic DJ who has appeared on the trance scene of late. He showed a great interest in music from a very young age, listening to New Wave & Acid House in the early 90s. His passion for EDM evolved, luring him to the white isle of Ibiza in 2004 and back again in 2005.
2:00pm: DMC Showcase Ahead of their World Championships later in the month, DMC will present a Main Stage Showcase featuring routines from past and present winners and finalists. Expect to see entertaining, innovative and original turntablism from the world’s best deck technicians introduced by DJ legend Cutmaster Swift (1989 World Champion).
2:30pm: Mystery Guest Q&A This session will be a unique opportunity to hear a true DJ superstar talk about his career and offer advice for up-and-coming DJ talent. We can’t reveal the DJ’s name just yet, but he is one of the biggest DJs in the world who regularly packs out clubs and arenas the world over. Don’t miss out!
3:00pm: Freestyle DJ Competition Heats 3&4
The contestants for the second two heats will be determined by live auditions taking place on the GCI Technologies Stand (B4) from 11am to 12:30pm. In each heat, four contestants will have five minutes to show what they can do behind the decks, before the judges choose a winner to go through to the final at the end of the day.
4:00pm: Kutski [Q&A Session]
Following his awe-inspiring Main Stage set at BPM 2009, Hard Dance and Hardcore’s newest superstar and people’s favourite Kutski returns this year for a live Q&A session. Find out how Radio One’s hard dance specialist has turned his love for music into a successful career and hear his advice for up-and-coming DJ talent. Don’t worry if you missed Kutski’s DJ set last year, as although he won’t be DJing in the Arena this year, he will be playing a set on the Pioneer DJ Stand at BPM.
4:20pm: Xploder [Live PA]
At a time when major record labels seem to be on the verge of meltdown, multi-talented Grime artist Xploder, aka X, proves with experience and some industry savvy it can all be done very well independently issuing his latest single ‘Don’t Trust You’ through the Highly Rated Entertainment label.
4:30pm: Freestyle DJ Competition Final
The winners from each of the four heats from earlier in the day will each perform another five minute showcase mix. The judges will then select a runner up and the winner who will become the GCI Technologies Freestyle DJ of the Year 2010.
5:00pm: Ultimate Prize Draw
The Ultimate Prize Draw is a massive free prize draw of equipment from BPM exhibitors. Entry is included for free with every BPM General Admission ticket bought in advance or on the door. All you have to do is fill in your details on a draw ticket and put it in the entry box located with the Arena. Then at the end of the day watch the draw take place to find out if you are the lucky winner (you must be present at the draw to win).
5:05pm: DJ Cheeba [Solid Steel AV Set]
Peel back your ears, stick matchsticks in your eyes, set your jaw to ‘drop’… Bristol’s, Detective of Perspective, DJ Cheeba is plugged in and here to turn the tables. With his trademark slick blend of classic breaks, hip-hop, electronica, rock, kid’s records, d&b, and in fact everything in between and beyond, Cheeba has the unrivaled technical ability, knowledge and humour to pull it all together like no one else. He’s on a one-man mission to cut and paste anything and everything you’ve ever seen, heard or imagined. Prepare for mind melt… Cheeba is certainly not your standard disc jockey.
6:00pm: DJ Yoda [1 Hour AV Set]
DJ Yoda is one of Britain’s most admired, original club DJs and an AV pioneer who is constantly pushing the possibilities of audio-visual manipulation. Encapsulating the very essence of good times, DJ Yoda has transformed clubbing as we know it, throwing down styles as diverse as Hip-Hop, Funk, Baltimore Club, Drum n Bass and even Country music, all cut-up with a awe-inspiring selection of film, TV show and You Tube visuals that elevate his sets to the uniquely sublime.
Sunday 3rd October
12:00pm: Andy Clayton & Mark Bryan
Andy and Mark are purveyors of the finest Underground House music playing vinyl only sets to deliver their unique sound, best described as Rumbling Atmospherica. Their style encompasses deep progressive beats, dirty baseline hooks and haunting melodies sure to entrance their audiences.
12:30pm: Mastermix Q&A Session
Chaired by Mastermix Label Manager, Richard Lee, the panel of Producers will be on hand to answer your questions about anything from mix techniques and software to their own experiences of working in the industry.
1:30pm: Jonathan Dobson Jonathan is one of the finest and most creative DJs in the South East and has carved out an excellent reputation firstly as a resident for Houseproud and more recently running his own Ginger Pussy nights. He regularly plays his own special edits and mixes and embraces modern technology to take his DJing to the next level, but above all knows how to rock the dance-floor.

In his successful DJ carear, that has already spanned over 20 years, Allister Whitehead has held residencies at some of the UKs biggest nights including the Hacienda, Golden and Cream. In this exclusive Q&A session discover Allister’s history and hear his advice for the DJs of the future.
3:00pm: Phatbeats.net Session [DJ Set]
The UK’s Top Radio website streaming live internet radio 24/7 give a flavour of the Garage, House, Drum and Bass, Urban, Electro and Old Skool music that their live DJs and MCs stream across the world.
3:30pm: DIY – Produce > Promote > Playout
The panelists hail from various sectors of the industry but have one thing in common, they can either help you self-promote or have already ‘got the t-shirt’. BPM’s Mark Walsh will be moderating the session, probing each of the panelists for ideas, advice and insight for budding music industry DIYers!
4:20pm: Tom Upton [DJ Set]
It’s been a busy 12months for Tom Upton, and things are just on the verge of getting a whole lot busier. From playing at a 20,000 capacity festival to running bi-monthly nights at Pacha, London and the Whitehouse, Tom hasn’t had a spare moment to stand still.
4:50pm: Baker Trouble [Live PA]
Baker Trouble is from London. Ahead of his debut release he has already had success with N-Dubz on their multi platinum selling album with a track called “Love For My Slums”, while his debut single featuring Tinie Tempah is called Body Language and is out later this year.

5:00pm – 8:00pm Denon DJ Party To celebrate their 100th Anniversary Denon are holding a party at BPM. There will be food, drinks and classic dance music from legendary DJ Allister Whitehead. All BPM visitors are invited to join in the party and help Denon celebrate 100 years of innovation and audio excellence.
5:30pm K-Klass (LIVE PA) ft. Bobbi
K-Klass need no introduction, they still are one of the biggest producers of house music EVER!!! They are responsible for some of the biggest house tracks ever made, many of which have featured the vocal delights of Bobbi Depasois.
6:30pm Rozalla (LIVE PA)
When visualizing the house, rave and club/dance music culture one would not immediately identify it with a raven-haired beauty from Africa. Yet Zambian born Rozalla’s impressive string of hit singles has earned her the title “Queen Of Rave”.
Monday 4th October

12:40pm: DJ Bailey [DJ Set + Q&A]
Club Atom, Hercules & Back2You Present: Radio 1Xtra DJ Bailey performing live and giving an exclusive Q&A. Don’t miss this wicked opportunity to see this multi-award winning radio presenter for BBC 1Xtra and long standing resident DJ for Goldie’s label ‘Metalheadz’.
1:30pm: Learn To Scratch [Tutorial]
Past DMC World Champion Cutmaster Swift presents an introduction to the tools and techniques used by the world’s best turntablists and hip-hop DJs. After Cutmaster Swift teaches the basics he’ll then be looking for volunteers to take to the stage and have a go on the decks.

2:30pm: Making a Career in Music
In this session BPM’s Mark Walsh will explore jobs in the music business by moderating a panel discussion with an experienced yet eclectic line up of industry professionals who will share their vast knowledge and know-how.
3:30pm: Learn To Mix [Tutorial]
Internet phenomenon DJ Tutor presents and introduction to mixing. Learn the basics that all professional DJs need to master to seamlessly blend together tracks to create a continuous musical mix. After DJ Tutor teaches the basics he’ll then be looking for volunteers to take to the stage and have a go on the decks.
4:00pm: Brian Mole [DJ Set]
Brian Mole is one of the busiest and most active DJs in the UK and has been playing to packed dance-floors since the early eighties. He regularly plays at functions such as weddings, corporate and birthday parties, but as a founding member of Houseproud and Ginger Pussy DJs, his love of House music becomes evident as he takes you on a trip through history from early seminal classic house tracks right up to the latest tech and big room tunes, teasing you with the odd anthem for good measure.
